IN EVERY SACHET

GHK-Cu for Dogs

The copper peptide in Poochy Peptide Powder, included for skin, coat and tissue repair. One sachet a day, mixed into dinner.

Why it is in the sachet.

  • Included for skin and coat condition
  • Chosen for tissue repair and healthy ageing
  • A naturally occurring copper peptide, canine evidence still being gathered

Evidence: Narrative review. See the science below.

The science so far.

  • GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a naturally occurring tripeptide found in plasma, saliva and urine. Its levels decline with age.
  • Most research is in cell culture, animal wound models and human skin studies using topical or injected forms. It has been reported to support collagen production and wound healing in those settings.
  • FDA’s 2026 compounding review covered injectable GHK-Cu and listed it among withdrawn nominations. There is no FDA-approved GHK-Cu drug for any species.

Still being studied.

  • Oral absorption. We found no published oral pharmacokinetic study of GHK-Cu in any species, so the sachet formulation is being developed to answer that.
  • Canine data. No study has tested GHK-Cu in dogs.
  • Copper load. GHK-Cu carries copper, and copper-associated liver disease is seen in some breeds, so the dose and total copper will be set with veterinary oversight.
